Brick, Pear, and Vase…do you know which you are?

bodyshapes

Have you ever hit the mall with every intention of picking up an outfit or two, yet you walked out empty handed? Even worse did you walk out with items you thought looked amazing on the rack, got them home, tried them on and hated them?!

This horrendous experience is likely caused by one single, solitary missing piece of critical information:  you don’t the slightest any clue what your body type is or what looks good on it.  The mannequins look great all dressed up; they are twigs.  You darling are NOT!  Therefore, mannequin shopping is not going to work for you.

Makeover queens Trinny and Susannah have been helping women go from blah to ‘ta-dow’! since 1994.  Their article on 12 women’s body types should give you a great jump start on preparing for your  next trip to the mall; your successful shopping trip to the mall.

As you determine your body type and begin thinking of clothing options based on what you now know, remember the advantages of using your accessories: scarves, earrings, necklaces to flaunt and accentuate where needed also.

Dish it ladies:  What body type are you? Does your current wardrobe reflect your body type or the mannequins’ type?   What will you need to add to your wardrobe to accentuate your assets?

Accessories keep your career wardrobe staple pieces timeless

Guest blogger Melissa from Workchic.com graces the blog pages of Fab Finds Under $50 with a fabulous post on having staple wardrobe pieces for your career. I’ve been a fan of this idea for may years. I’ve never seen the need to have an extravagant layout for the workplace.

Melissa recommends using “trendier accessories to add some pop to the basics” I couldn’t agree more! Take a few simple pieces and spice them up with the accessories: shoes, purses and of course jewelry! Let your personality shine through your accessories!
